Marc Simoncini is one of the leaders of the French new economy.

As soon as 1989, Marc launched his first company, Opsion Innovation IT Services which was specialised in developing interactive solutions under UNIX. In 1998, he launched the iFrance network in France, Switzerland, Quebec and Belgium successively, selling it to Vivendi in April 2000. He then intervened as an advisor and business angel in various start-ups before setting off on a totally new adventure in founding Meetic at the end of 2001.

Meetic.com became quickly a real web phenomenon in France. 10 years after its commercial launch, Meetic has established itself as the European leader in online dating, with over 40 million profiles registered since its creation. Through its acquisition of the European activities of the world leader Match.com in June 2009, Meetic has strengthened its first place on the continent. The group is currently established in 16 European countries as well as in Latin America, and is available in 13 languages. Meetic posted sales of €157.9 million in 2009 and is listed on the Euronext Paris stock market (FR0004063097- MEET).

For the last 10 years, Marc is a business angel in several internet companies, including 1000Mercis and Winamax.

In early 2010, he has launched his own venture fund, Jaïna Capital, in order to help talented entrepreneurs to succeed. Marc is an ESI graduate.
